Happy Halloween! ooooOOOOOOOOoooo *wafts around making spooky cow noises* I'm waiting for the first of the trick-or-treaters to arrive - not sure how many there will be this year as it's pretty chilly out. We got clipped in Indiana by the edges of Sandy - just a lot of wind and a few days of light rain and drizzle, but still, impressive that we felt it even this far inland. The footage of the damage and flooding where she hit hardest is incredible, and heartbreaking - sending good thoughts to anyone out there picking up the pieces today. Was thinking I should dress up as Global Climate Change for Halloween, that or a Political Ad. O_O Couldn't decide which was scarier.

Although! I woke up at 3am this morning with an allergic reaction to something (maybe the peach herbal tea, which I hope not, because it was very tasty, or more likely the fennel seeds I sprinkled on my salad - those were the only two different things I imbibed yesterday). My lips and the roof of my mouth were all swollen, as well as one eyelid - looked like Botox gone wrong, lol, and would have made an awesome Halloween costume. Weird body. I've never been allergic to anything before, but that's the third time in the past year: had a weird flu-reaction to a honeybee sting, and my fingertips got all swollen and itchy I think from eating pistachios, which I'd always eaten before with no problem. Nothing likely to go anaphylactic, thank goodness, and Benedryl seems to take care of the reaction pretty quickly (although I think the lips are still slightly pouty - mwa!).

Hm, only three trick-or-treaters so far. I'm gonna have a lot of chocolate leftover, poor me! :P

MMMmmm, it's good stuff *munches*
Have fun with the party and midnight write!

Yes ma'am, 1667 words it is!

Happy Halloween! ^_^
I hear you on the allergic things! It might be age. I picked up a weird allergy to an unknown something that gave me the giant puffy upper lip of doom two years ago, and I was never allergic to anything until then.

Enjoy your excess of chocolate!

Re: Happy Halloween! ^_^
It's a little unsettling to wonder what might trigger a reaction next, even if it's just a little face-poofing. I'm starting to wonder if some of the digestive/joint ache issues might be allergy related, too.

Got a late rush of kids, and lots of double-handed grabbers (one little guy I think had at least five in each fist, lol), so not so much chocolate left. I can probably eat all the leftovers tonight! *sets to it*

Happy Halloween - and I do hope you can find a solution to the allergy problem, as this is a worry if its serious and, if it isn't serious, just a darned nuisance. And yes - there can be less than aesthetic results ! Enjoy the Choccy - at least it's not that :-)

Happy Halloween! Yeah, once I know what causes the reaction I can avoid it, but it's a little unsettling to wonder what new thing will cause a reaction next, even if it's more the nuisance variety. Probably ought to see if the doctor recommends an allergy testing thingy, although he didn't seem too worried when I mentioned it last time I was in (for getting poison ivy all over my face - now there's an unpleasant allergic reaction!)

Thank Primus I'm not allergic to chocolate! I would cry. *munches chocolate bar happily*

Happy Halloween and All Souls and Dia de los Muertos! For some reason the latter of those makes me think of Project Reset and ALL the dead coming back XD

Meep, allergies! I've been having more problems with them lately, too. Had a reaction where I got very nauseous and wheezy, and still not sure what caused it. Another time passed out in McDonalds after an allergic reaction. I hope you figure it out! Facial swelling is no small matter! *snuggles*

Both of those are scary Halloween costumes. I've been thinking a great deal on Global Climate Change lately ;;

We have way too much chocolate left over, if there can be such a thing. I should know better than to buy the Costco bag of goodies for the 30 kids we get. Overdoing it by quite a bit XD

AHAHAHAHAHA I didn't even think of that - Day of the Dead is a totally appropriate day for Project Reset XD

Yikes, the wheezy and passing out stuff sounds more scary than poofy lips. I spent an hour or so at 3am trying to decide "am I having trouble breathing? Nah, I think I'm fine, lips are slowly de-poofing, probably ok to go back to bed..."

With 100 year weather events happening every year, it's going to be hard to not think about Global Climate Change - which is odd to me in a way because I was discussing species extinction and best conservation strategies to help plant and animal communities cope with climate change back in my graduate wildlife classes way back in the 1990's, and it was just an accepted fact, already manifesting on an ecological level.

I'm taking my extra chocolate into work tomorrow - we've got a whole horde of staff and presenters coming in, they'll help save me from eating the entire stash ^^

I had a classmate in college who was allergic to fennel.

It seems to be a not-too-uncommon allergy, so maybe that's what it was, although I'm pretty sure I've eaten it before with no problems.
